Armed Officers Rush to Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School Amid Lockdown, Shooter Report

Fall River, MA — September 2025: Chaos and fear gripped Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School in Fall River on Tuesday as the school was placed on active lockdown following reports of a person with a gun inside the building.

Police quickly responded, blocking off all approaches to the school and establishing a perimeter around the campus. Witnesses described seeing officers with long guns stationed outside as parents began arriving at the scene, desperate for updates on the safety of their children.

Authorities have not confirmed whether shots were fired or if a suspect is in custody. As of early afternoon, the school remained locked down while law enforcement conducted a systematic search of the building.

Local police urged parents and community members to avoid the area as the investigation unfolded. “Our priority right now is the safety of students and staff,” one officer at the scene said.

The tense situation drew dozens of parents to the school’s perimeter, many of them tearful and on cell phones with their children who remained locked inside classrooms.

This is a developing story. Police say more information will be released once the school is secure and the investigation advances.
